Antarctic whisky
Arguably, Glen Mhor's lasting legacy will be unknown to many. It certainly dominated the press archives when the bottles from the Ernest Shackleton expedition were first discovered at the turn of the millennium and then when they were examined and recreated in 2011.
Various special editions have followed, with a drop of Glen Mhor itself being added to the mix to provide that missing link. Nowadays, there's a Shackleton blended malt that is available almost everywhere, and in part, continues the Glen Mhor legacy without having anything from the distillery within it.
You'll find more detail on the scientific analysis in our Documentation Section, including a link to the released PDF that in summary surprised everyone with the quality of the whisky from Glen Mhor.
